His interest in processes of displacement, movement, and transformation drives Tchelo's research towards the invention of rules and procedures that, by means of self-proposed games or systems, determine the form his artworks take. In some of his works the artist carbonizes timber pieces to turn them into construction tools for installations and drawings.
Graduated in Social Communication, in 2000 Tchelo attended the Post Experience Programme in Visual Arts at the Royal College of Art, in London.
In 2015 he presented the solo exhibition Princípia in São Paulo, awarded at the 19º Cultura Inglesa Festival, and was also awarded at the XVIII Cerveira Biennal, in Portugal.
Among the several group exhibitions that the artist has participated we can highlight shows at A Gentil Carioca gallery (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Paço das Artes (São Paulo, Brazil), Central Gallery (São Paulo, Brazil), MARP (Ribeirão Preto, Brazil), Pinta Special Edition (London, UK), Dialog Art Gallery (Vienna, Austria), Soares dos Reis National Museum (Porto, Portugal) and Reina Sofia Museum (Madrid, Spain).
