Max Gómez Canle was born in Buenos Aires in 1972. In the nineties he studied painting at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredón. He has worked as a carpenter, set designer, art restorer, cook, artisan, picture framer, streetsign painter, and videomaker. He has copied paintings in every style possible, either on his own or, in more guided fashion, as part of the group Amigos del Siglo XX. He was awarded prizes at the “50ª Aniversario del Fondo Nacional de las Artes” and the “Salón Nacional de Rosario.”  He won the “10 años de Bola de Nieve” prize pursuant to a vote by fellow artists, and the Asociación Argentina de Críticos de Arte’s “Ignacio Pirovano” award for young artist of the year for the 2007. In 2009, his work  Ventana was selected for the huge facade of the Edificio Del Plata on 9 de Julio Avenue in downtown Buenos Aires. He won a grant from arteBA-FLORA to travel to Colombia; he was awarded the Premio Andreani in 2013 and the Premio Klemm  in 2014. Recent solo shows include Condición y cabeza (Fundación Klemm, Buenos Aires, 2016), Invasiones mutuas (Ruth Benzacar Galería de Arte, Buenos Aires, 2014), Fisonomía del tiempo (FLORA ars+natura, Bogotá, 2014), and El devenir de una memoria (Galería Casa Triángulo, San Pablo, 2013).
