The artist’s methodology focuses on colour as a transforming agent of the space and its perception. In her work we usually find the meticulous analysis of a space intervened in situ and its transformation through color, all of which is intermixed following the traditions of the radical monochrome painting, mural painting, performative processes and the landscape (the latter genre understood in a broad way). The title of his recent doctoral thesis: The Painter on the Road, perfectly sums up her interests and attitude to painting, could well say that Irene Grau is a conceptual plenairist who assumes that the work is just "what remains" of a wider experience that goes far beyond a traveled landscape or a studied architecture. As transmitting the experiential means taking a lack, even so, her work leaves enough clues so that we, the viewers, can rebuild the way and orient our own perception.
