Study group

Inspired by the works of Hokusai: Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji and One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji, we have proposed to Ateliê Fidalga’s Study Group artists to think a picture on this important symbol of Japan.

During  April 2015, we have conducted meetings with them, who presented their research and ideas. The images were created especially for the book and produced in different medias: drawing, engraving, photography, collage, watercolor, painting and others.

Thus we have realized that the project got a greater dimension that each image opened a new reading and a new look at this country with whom we have strong affective ties and learned to admire—the result of over 100 years of Japanese immigration in Brazil.
